The agreement, in plain words

Terms

These terms cover the free preview and paid itinerary planning. They are written to be read: what you get, what we verify, what we only estimate, and what happens if something goes wrong.

1

Who you are agreeing with

These terms are between you and One Week In, which operates this service. We refers to us; you refers to the person using the service.

Who operates this service, and the address for correspondence

Reach us at hello@oneweekinnewyork.com for anything about the service, or support@oneweekinnewyork.com once you have bought.

You must be 18 or over to buy. Under-18s can be in your party — they just cannot be the one paying.

2

What the service is

The free preview first builds a deterministic, read-only itinerary from your dates, coarse party counts and selected sights, with no account or model call. You may view, share, download and print it. After sign-in, the free guide also answers a fixed set of questions about scope, readiness and that starting plan; editing or rebuilding with the guide belongs to paid itinerary planning.

Paid itinerary planning is the paid product. You and the guide build an itinerary together: it proposes places with their sources attached, flags clashes such as closures, booking windows and geography, and respects what you lock in. The result is a living itinerary you can edit and export.

The anonymous itinerary is assembled by fixed software, not an AI model. The free and paid guides you can talk to are AI systems and say so when you meet them. A person is not reading your conversation as it happens.

3

What you get when you buy

Paid itinerary planning is a one-time purchase for one trip. It is not a subscription, it does not renew, and nothing charges you again.

It covers the planning conversation and your itinerary for the life of that trip, plus the retention window in the privacy policy. Prices and what is included are shown at checkout before you pay, including any tax.

The plan we deliver is yours to use for your own travel: read it, print it, export it, and share it with the people coming with you. What you may not do is resell it, publish it as your own, or feed it and our verified data into another product.

4

Verified facts, and their limits

A detail marked as verified was confirmed against a named source. Venues still change, so confirm anything critical directly before relying on it.

New York does not hold still. Opening hours change, kitchens close, exhibitions move, prices rise, and a place that was open when we verified it can be shut on the day you arrive. A verified marker is a record of verification, never a promise about the future.

  • Anything marked as outside the verified guide — your own additions, and suggestions we surface from a live search — has not been verified by us.
  • Travel times are planning estimates, and each one says whether it was measured or assumed. Traffic, service changes, weather, queues, entrances and accessibility all move the real journey.

So: confirm anything that would ruin your day if it were wrong — bookings, ticketed entry, opening hours, accessibility, and transport status — with the venue or operator before you rely on it. We plan carefully; we are not a guarantee of what you will find when you get there.

5

Your trip is yours

Your dates, notes, party details and finished itinerary belong to you. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your trip, process it, and show it back to you.

We may use fully anonymized, aggregated signals — how often a kind of question comes up, which neighborhoods need better coverage — to decide what to check next. Never your identity, and never your itinerary.

6

Our side of it

The verified database, the guide, and this site are ours or our licensors'. Photographs are used under their own licenses, with attribution recorded on the photo credits page.

Map data belongs to its providers and keeps its attribution on the map.

7

Fair use

The guide has limits sized around planning one trip, and ordinary planning does not come close to them. We may pause the free preview while dealing with abuse.

What ends an account: scraping or bulk-extracting the database, automating access, reselling access, sharing an account across strangers, attempting to break the guide out of its brief, or using the service to harass anyone or to produce unlawful content.

8

Price and payment

This section applies to every purchase.

Purchases are handled by Paddle as merchant of record. Paddle is the seller on your receipt, collects the payment and any tax due, and handles the card details we never see.

The price and the total, including any tax, are shown at checkout before you commit. If a price is ever displayed in error, we will not hold you to it — we will tell you and refund the difference or cancel the order.

9

Refunds

If the paid itinerary build has not started, you can cancel within 14 days of purchase and get all of your money back.

Because the build starts on your request and delivers a digital service straight away, you agree at that moment that the work begins at once — which is the point where the statutory cancellation right stops applying. A goodwill refund stays available for genuine dissatisfaction, and asking costs you nothing.

None of this takes away rights the law gives you. Refund requests: support@oneweekinnewyork.com.

10

Availability and changes

We aim for a service that is available, not one that is perfect. Maintenance happens, providers have outages, and features change as the product improves.

If we ever stop the service, active paid trips stay exportable and we will put things right where the law requires it.

11

Where our liability stops

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for anything connected with the service is limited to the total amount you paid for that trip.

We are not liable for what third parties do: venues, restaurants, transport operators, ticket sellers and accommodation are not ours to control, and we take no commission from them. Nor are we liable for a trip that disappoints because a place changed after we verified it.

Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law — and none of it affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

12

Ending it

You can stop using the service whenever you like and ask us to delete your account. Deletion is described in the privacy policy.

We can suspend or close an account that breaks the fair-use rules above. If we close a paid account for something that was not your fault, you get your itinerary and a refund of what you have not received.

13

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms materially, we will say so here and email account holders before the change takes effect. A trip you have already paid for keeps the terms you bought under. This version is dated 14 August 2026.

14

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and disputes go to the courts of England and Wales. If something goes wrong, write to hello@oneweekinnewyork.com first — most things are quicker to fix than to argue about.
